69% of 4th graders do not read proficiently. 2 out of 3 of these children end up on welfare or in prison.43 million U.S. adults cannot read at a 4th-grade level. 54% of all adults read below a 6th-grade level.Raising reading scores by 1% drives a 1.5% rise in GDP and a 2.5% jump in labor productivity.Tutoring costs are going up. It now averages $113.06 per hour, which is a 4.6% increase since 2024.
The Underlining Problem
Public schools aren't providing enough effective reading instruction, and Science of Reading tutoring is often too costly. We need a fast, easy, affordable way to train more Science of Reading tutors to expand supply and lower prices.
Fluent's Methodology
